doublejack asked: My biggest regret from the SF tweetup was sitting next to you late Saturday night in the lobby at Vertigo and not introducing myself. Scotch and wacky tobaccy don't always have my best interests at heart.
Anyway, hi. I'm Doublejack, but you can call me Bill. I think you're funny.
Hi Bill!
You know, there it is. That’s my biggest regret, too. Not just you but everybody. Over the last week and a half I’ve been cruising the various photo sets on Flickr and I keep thinking, “Oh man, [so and so] was there?” “Oh jeeze, I should’ve spent more time with [such and such].” and “Dayum! Who’s that? [toofsuck]”
This doesn’t take away from the spirit of our orgy of appreciation and I don’t think it’s a weakness of mass function like SFTU. Instead it gives it depth and mystery and saves something precious for the next time. If anything it highlights that I need to act on that impulse to extend my hand and introduce myself to unfamiliar faces—an impulse I normally suppress IRL because, really, most strangers suck. After all, whether we follow each other or not, we all get it. So there’s that.
That said, let me get something straight at the beginning of this relationship; I hate wacky tobaccy. Can’t stand it. I prefer pot, weed, chronic, sense, dope, endo, smoke, stuff, sticky, bud, green(s) and blueberries. This is a perfect example of the above; you were holding and I had no clue. “Dank,” also “the dank.”*
*Whatever. It’s 2010.
