In The Line of Duty is my latest distraction and features letters home to the loved ones of those killed in the noble cause of plot advancement. Guys in red shirts, Imperial officers, bright-eyed Marine grunts on alien worlds. They drop like flies, but someone’s gotta write those letters home saying Ensign Rickey’s never coming back.

The premier letter is from Darth Vader to the wife of one of the guys he choked in The Empire Strikes Back.

That’s gotta be awkward, right? But Vader was his commanding officer. Who else was gonna write it? 

Still… awkward.
